Spirits is not your average restaurant. Since opening on the corner of Texas Ave. and Jackson St in 1967, it has evolved into an Alexandria institution, and a place where you can enjoy great food, great service and great live music in Central Louisiana.

Our extensive menu features fresh gulf fish, seafood, burgers, Po-boys, pasta dishes and our famous Spirits salads. Spirits also has a diverse wine list, as well as an extensive selection of domestic and imported beers to choose from. Finish your meal off with a cup of gourmet Community coffee and a delicious dessert.

Spirits features free live music every Wednesday night showcasing local and statewide artists. We also host regional and national touring bands at least once a month. 

The walls of Spirits are a shrine to musical icons. They reflect the owner’s appreciation of American music and its roots in blues and jazz.
